You need a valid Powered Pleasure Craft Driving Licence (PPCDL) to drive engine-powered / jet-propelled boats of less than 24 metres within the Singapore port limits.
Once you have a valid PPCDL, you are allowed to drive an MPA pleasure craft registered with the following prefix:
- SZ – in the case of a pleasure craft for private use; and
- SZH – in the case of a pleasure craft for commercial use.
Requirements for PPCDL
- Be at least 16 years of age.
- Have successfully completed an approved PPCDL course at any of the PPCDL Centres approved by MPA.
- Produce a valid certificate by a medical practitioner certifying that you have passed an eyesight test and are not physically handicapped.
- Successfully passed the PPCDL Examinations conducted by the Singapore Maritime Academy, Singapore Polytechnic.
